ALA-Hawaii extends a warm aloha to Shawn Strachan and
The Lung Association, Alberta & NWT

Shawn Strachan, from Alberta, Canada, will be competing in the 2009 Ford Ironman World Championship Race in Kona on October 10. Left with 52% lung capacity due to asthma triggered by bronchitis and pneumonia at age 11, Shawn is taking on this extreme challenge ‘to show everyone who suffers from asthma that it doesn’t have to control your life.’ Standing behind his commitment to ‘Never Give Up’, Shawn hopes to encourage and inspire others living with asthma to manage their disorder and strive for their dreams.

Mahalo to all of our Breathe Ride participants!
Congratulations and a big thank you to the 14 cyclists who participated in The Breathe Ride and the Honolulu Century Ride.

Thank you to the volunteers who did a fantastic job at aid stations throughout the route.

We could not do this without each and every one of you!
